Some Early Xmas Gifts for the Crazy Book Nut

As I stated earlier I would get a list of the new acquisitions to my collection.

A little background about the two major acquisitions first.

Neil, over at Clarkesworld Books, put out a call for sanity about two weeks ago. He was putting a huge portion of his stock on sale to save his wife’s sanity since his house was now overrun with books. He posted this sale announcement on his Livejournal and being the slave to all thigns books I clicked over to see if anything I might be interested in was on sale.

Big mistake.

I ended up purchasing 13 books on the sale. All good stuff. Then Neil goes and posts once again to his LJ that a certain book BLINDSIGHT was not going to be going to a second printing and that it was one of the best books he has read plus it hadn’t received a lot of promotion when it was released. So off I went and ordered that one. For some reason I clicked through and found that Charles Stross had his new Bob Howard book, THE JENNIFER MORGUE out so I picked that one up as well. Charles Stross is an excellent writer. I will write more about him later on. And since I was there I picked up IRON SUNRISE as well.

Once again Neil had two orders from me with just two LJ posts. And I eagerly awaited the boxes which I received today.

Mindy, Rich, and Brian over at Cemetery Dance are a great group of people. I became a lettered edition lifetime subscriber and since I have to wait I dread when CD finally catches up with their back catalogue of books. Well the first wave of catch up has finally hit. Thirteen new lettered editions ended up in my hands (Thanks to Kelly Laymon who now lives in NJ was “tricked” into bringing me my boxes by Mindy). CD seems to be really catching up and now I need to actually get my cousin over to build my book cases that I need. Right now most of my books are in boxes and I cant’ have that.

You can take a look at what I purchased from Clarkesworld and see the new lettered additions here. Everything that is not from Cemetery Dance was purchased through Clarkesworld.
