On How Books Procreate

Oh how I wish they could come up with a pill for this. Why? Well contrary to common sense (no pun intended, you’ll see) I have done something that is both cool and not so cool.

In my focus to gather material on Tom Paine to read and get to know this forgotten Founding Father, I picked up the Library of America edition of his writings. I already had Common Sense and The American Crisis from the Easton Press, but I wanted The Age of Reason and Rights of Man as well. Prior to this I had already purchased the Library of America edition of HP Lovecraft’s Tales and I had on order Poe’s Writings and the Gothic Tales of Charles Brockden Brown. From there I picked up American Speeches Volumes 1 and 2 and the Debates on the Constitution Volumes 1 and 2. So now I have the beginning of a neat little Library of American Collection. So what does this mean? It means in my chemically changed brain I need to expand this collection. So I will be picking up more Library of American editions. I think I won’t complete the entire catalog but just the volumes I really am interested in. But this could change as I gather more into the fold.

The bad part of this? The space in my house has dwindled to nothing. And I fear my wife is going to do something drastic.
